AI in Healthcare, Biomedical Computing & Drug Discovery Algorithms

Computational biologist and science journalist covering the remarkable collision of artificial intelligence with medical research.

About

Rohan Kapoor studied computer science and biology at IIT Delhi before completing a master's degree in bioinformatics at the University of Toronto, where he now lives. He spent two years building AI tools for genomic analysis at a Canadian biotech startup before realising the stories emerging at the intersection of computing and medicine were too important to stay inside academic papers and pitch decks. At Discovia, Rohan covers AI-powered drug discovery, computational diagnostics, medical imaging algorithms, and the growing use of machine learning in clinical decision-making. He is particularly interested in whether the AI revolution in medicine will reduce or widen global health inequalities — a question he pursues with the rigour of a researcher and the instincts of a journalist. He is based in Toronto.
