About
Dr. Félix Moreau studied materials chemistry at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in bio-inspired materials design at CNRS Paris. His research focused on synthetic analogues of natural structural materials — the proteins in spider silk, the mineral arrangements in abalone shell, the surface architecture of lotus leaves — and he has carried that obsession into his journalism. At Discovia, Félix covers biomimetic materials, biodegradable alternatives to industrial plastics, bio-based adhesives, and the extraordinary ingenuity of researchers who look to evolution for engineering solutions. He writes with a sense of wonder that is entirely justified — the natural world, it turns out, solved most of our materials problems millions of years ago. He is based in Paris.
