About
Dr. Clara Voss grew up on a working farm in southern Minnesota and went on to earn a doctorate in plant biology from the University of Wisconsin. She spent six years in agricultural research before becoming convinced that the most valuable thing she could do was communicate the science to a broader audience. At Discovia, Clara covers precision agriculture, soil microbiome research, drought-resistant crop development, and the fast-moving world of agricultural biotechnology. She writes with a farmer's pragmatism and a scientist's rigour — always asking not just whether an innovation works in the lab, but whether a real farmer with real constraints would ever actually use it. She is based in Minneapolis.
